Why does the Fooey hate Soyjak Party even though it started as a splinter of that site?

Pic unrelated.
>Why do people who didn't like how they were treated at another site, and left that site, dislike the other site?

The fanfiction side of soyjaks (wiki entries, soysylum) were amusing until ideological possession killed off this niche. Political fixations kill the fun of a hobby.
This anthro niche, in its current state, started off as furry porn generals on /fap/ until the admin banned furry content site-wide except for /nate/. A new owner then made /fur/ as a honeypot, but permitted us to stay on /qa/ after its purge. Once the general grew too big, the staff manager opened up /g/ and forced us there, where generals were dead over the entire summer but got revived by the August /anthro/ board competition. The group lost the competition and returned to /g/ until December, where the admins hosted /bp/ as another board competition, which won this time but got nuked after the steal of a major GET. This was a span of 2 years, and from here starts this site's history.

There was always a small group who willingly tried to revive the safe side of furry art, even from the beginning, but importantly, this was a personal choice, not one forced onto others by anyone. When porn was posted, there was only a polite request to stop, without any overly-dramatic behaviors. Forcing an ideology onto others, over the internet, does not work, rather a meaningful conversion of beliefs can only occur through friendship and civility, or, in other words, through good behaviors, as the other individual must reach such conclusions on their own, not by force.

Funny because it pissed people off and also because it subverted expectations about the furry fandom. I dear say it made me more open about being a furry myself. Although, I’ll admit, seeing people pretending that she was their girlfriend was pretty retarded.

It's a matter of taste, sure. I would've stomached them had they been one of the minor memes but the whole place seems to revolve around that face and it felt overplayed. The peculiar lingo wasn't helping. Don't see anything wrong with having a unique identity and sticking with it, just didn't feel like the right place (for me).

Perhaps others have the same thing with anthros, though in their defense they are at least much more varied in shapes and artstyles. But yes, sometimes each of us encounters something we just find off-putting — doesn't have to have a reasonable explanation to it either — and either have to confront it, compromise or leave.

maybe i should start my own foo. i wouldnt want to completely sanitize the site of either the chud stuff or the gooner stuff. im somewhat of a chuddy gooner myself. its just when people come to a site just looking to get off or just looking to seethe about politics it kind of ruins it for everyone else. oh yeah also banning jaks is always a good thing.

Having arrived here a couple months after all the drama had taken place, I only discovered the other board like half a year later and lurk there sometimes.
They have a higher activity, but also post soyjaks (and embrace their sharty past) and seem to gatekeep.
Not going to go into details and go over the events as reconstructed from the posts saved on web archives and they would be incomplete anyway, but maybe the current arrangement isn't that bad. One foo gets the jaks, other other gets hmofa and everyone is happy. Well, not everyone, as there appears to be some animosity present; people take things too seriously.
Still, perhaps this could've probably been solved by making two boards on the same website, not splitting it. Then again, maybe not: Sharty culture seems to include intraboard raids and rivalries, does it not? I just want to browse anthro girls in peace, discuss artists and anthro-related content.
>maybe i should start my own foo
Well, the engine itself is open-source so it shouldn't take too much effort to get it running but then you'd slam into the same issues the admins of the existing two have, as setting and enforcing the rules over long periods of time and with a lot of edge (hue) cases is not easy nor fun, especially as complaints and grief starts to mount. And then there is the question of recruitment and generating activity so that the place isn't DoA. Imo people not being able to compromise and tolerate each other when dealing with altchans is why they so seldom take off and why 4chan still reigns supreme due to just the sheer number of posters it accumulated during its golden age. Fragmenting a community is as likely to cause harm as it is to cause good so imo it should be a last resort. I'd just pick one of the existing two (or both) and nurture that.

I personally don’t get it. Too me they’re a bunch of hypocrite narcissists, nothing wrong with that until they started trying to ddos this site and threaten to release personal information about staff here, literally all because the owner of their site refused to say “sorry for mod abusing” or just try and find some compromise. He talks about this starting as being worried that “floof tried to usurp him as group leader” so it makes me think it’s just some control freak narcissist shit and the “gooner” thing is just something to fight over.

Regardless I find their site is useful, it keeps all the spergs away from here. If you like that more you don’t belong here anyway. I just wished they weren’t as obsessed to just make up and lie about us being pedophiles just to feel better about themselves.

The disconnect from reality in this thread is concerning to say the least. Complaining about the lack of filter or people posting what you don't like should be a instant rule 5 ban on grounds of lacking the mental capacity to understand what an imageboard is. No login means anyone can come and post whatever they want, that's the fucking point. Nothing is in place to stop a bad anon posting something you don't like, staff only exist to gently guide the topic and remove illegal stuff. Either develop a mental filter to someone posting a fat kot or go use a kid forum, you're not mentally prepared to use a website that requires some degree of emotional control

The anon complaining about waifuposting, not realizing what website he's on or that every issue is relative. This isn't a void though, is it? I figure that at least a couple of people whom have a hand in this site's operation will read this thread. We're still amplifying and normalising various thoughts and talking points here, which will eventually bleed over into places where the mods and admins will see them.
>>5876
Well, you have 2 options
1) put it the effort to post what you want and cultivate a new culture
2) go somewhere else
Realistically nobody ever does 1 which is why alt-chans exist

>ah crap well i dont want to take posters away from this site i just wanted to have them on a site of things i like
What about anfoo is it that you dislike? The first thing that comes to mind is the word filter (almost exclusively limited to the for→fur substitution that affected links and the preposition; other than that who cares?) but that's gone now.
The overall activity outside of the art thread (that one's doing quite well imo) could be 2-3 times higher but the "If (You) don't like something then post what (You) want to see." motto at the top of the page seems applicable here. Kinda apprehensive about namedropping the site though, considering the previous campaigns were what had caused the controversy (or rather likely just precipitated it), gonna let the admins figure that out.
Other than that,
>>5871
Aha, did notice the same thing. It does fuel them to an extent, but it's, well, petty, I guess? There's probably their regulars reading this thread looking for further confirmation of their prejudice but I offer feedback instead: a newcomer will probably not immediately share your enmity, it looks off-putting.
On the other hand, it is nice of them to preserve at least some posts and links, wouldn't have even known otherwise. There's not nearly enough there to denounce anyone (notmyproblem) but worth keeping in mind.

The last time this happened the result was controversial and I'm not sure what conclusions were made. Could mention it when meeting fellow racism fox enjoyers but some of the same anons thus invited may end up being troublemakers, giving the board a bad name and the mods a headache. Looks like xitter is active though, yeah? Maybe that's how people find about about this place these days. For me it was a mention in passing on one of 4chan's boards (not trash), last summer or so. They're obnoxious. I have no idea whether they're "kids" or not, but it wouldn't surprise me. Why would I go to the places where they congregate? Why would I pay any attention to them at all? They're not fun, they're not interesting, they produce nothing fun, they produce nothing interesting. I am content to spend my time in other portions of the Internet and never think about them again.
