Is it even possible to love an inanimate object?  "I want the best for this assembly of circuit boards wrapped in skin and fur grown in a vat.  I will dedicate my life to pressing the button on my remote that says 'simulate happiness.'"  That seems bizarre to me.  It's creepy and becomes more alarming the more I think about it.
