Arachnophobia is fear of spiders. Not seething hatred towards spiders. Homophobia is usually hatred towards gay people. It does stem from fear but if the end result of fear is wrathful hatred, then it's a fear due to a suppressed insecurity about yourself.
People with arachnophobia don't have wrathful hatred towards them. Even if they try to kill spiders. It's more about their self-preservation instincts kicking in because they are afraid that they might get bit by a spider.
I hate to say this but this is a flawed rebuttal.
