If you really need a PvP shooter fix, I guess Tarkov would be the most interesting culturally-relevant auteur-driven PvP game on the market right now; the faggot streamers and endless discourse about balancing, wipes, bugs, etc are just white noise, block it all out and you may see the game fur what it truly is: an artfag experience.

Some good stuff in that list. Play the System Shocks as well, those are good since they're made by the thief people. I get the wisdom of that, especially since the most fun I've had playing games recently has either been older games or indie games, usually ones that end up flying under the radar and get spared of having obnoxious teenyboppers creating a cancerous 'fandom' around them, though not specifically because Im trying to avoid that. I think the problem is I just usually want to have a good time when I game and so I default to just what I already know. Maybe my mentality will change and I can play all the stuff that I've wanted to try on a whim one day.

Its probably my favorite game released this year, even if it was in early access fur while. It's basically Half Life 1 if it were a survival game with a little bit of SCP fur flavor. Put like 200 hours into it while I was hurt lmao.
