I think it's a small minority of individuals who go apeshit when they hear certain artists mentioned. Hladilnik is one, Dimwitdog is another, Sketchytoasty is another, Deadmimicked is another. Wheresmysocks has an e-stalker who seems to be genuinely mentally ill, and any mention of his name or his characters will bring him out, foaming at the mouth about how he "betrayed us," by drawing commissioned art of certain of his characters doing things this individual (who has distinctively bad grammar and distinctive repeated errors in spelling) is unable to tolerate. He will fling shit, spam, and screech autistically for many hours about what "we" want and what "we" should do and what wheresmysocks did to "us," and all of these plural pronouns exist in his head only. The voices in his head do not add up to a "we."
I personally like some of each one's work, too.
/hmofa/ has a particularly persistent resident spammer, I think not the same person as the first due to a different set of highly distinctive grammatical tics, who had some kind of personal hardon for Lovelocked and is responsible for driving him away. When last I looked he was trying very hard to do the same to thighlordash. He may or may not be the same one who went to Kiwifarms a few years back and attempted to recruit them to be his personal army to harass yet another female artist for whom he had a hateboner. Hilarity ensued.
