This is a bait thread so don't furget to sage. But I'll bite.
You don't go full SFW because that discourages good posters, you don't go full NSFW because that attracts horrible posters. Most of these other places you mentioned are retrofitted to be anthro/furry spaces with an admin team that, at best, doesn't care. At worst, they're actively hostile to the users. Having staff who actually want the site to succeed is a rarity in this niche.
As far as 'foo culture is concerned, this site has too few posters who were originally from all over the place (according to that one thread) to have a very defined culture yet. This presents the posters and creators with the opportunity to shape that culture fur themselves. I personally think that's exciting.

I fluffing LOVE Sprunki!
