I heard that some furs complain about kemonos fur generally having flat faces like a humoid anime girl, this is kinda true imo. The problem with kemonos isn’t the big cute eyes, it’s just that it doesn’t have enough snout sometimes. However it’s funny how the furry fandom itself during its early days was actually inspired by anime and not just western cartoons (I mean you can thank western cartoons like Disney fur being the inspiration fur BOTH furries and anime)
I honestly had never heard the term befure using this site. My understanding back when I only looked up furry art to goof to was simply that some (most) artists draw their characters very cartoonishly (including many with anime faces) while others lean more towards realism and that was it. I'm still not entirely sure what it really means. It seems when most people use it they mean le tranime gorl plus ears and tail but I've seen at least one artist who's considered kemono despite drawing rather realistically simply because they're Japanese, it looks like. There's one funny post on this website that branded the flat-faced style as Jakartan.

I personally like the snoot, but some kemonos are very pleasing. Additionally, some species naturally lack a prominent snoot. I like them regardless.

i dont like kemono because it can easily be boiled down to an anime girl covered in paint

Not useful fur understanding the world. Someone really ought to tell those kemono artists that they're doing an objectivelybadcharacterdesign by not affixing a GP-5 gas mask to the end of their drawn anthropomorphic animals.

True actually
The Japanese as a race just hate noses. Their traditional art, their comics and cartoons, their make-up styles, even the way they take photos all prove this. Japanese "beauty standards" want to make the nose (esp. the female nose) as close to invisible as they can. If they need to depict a huwaito gaijin, they give him/her a big jew schnozzle. If they need to depict a cute girl, they give her as little nose as possible, even if she's a literal animal.

It's a subtlety that most gaijin will never realize, even if they love anime/manga and deliberately attempt to ape Japanese styles. The Japanese themselves rarely even realize it. And if someone does realize, they sound crazy fur saying it.
