Let's do a collaborative writing thread fur fun, where we make a setting.
Pick a waifur of your choosing, and create a country based on the character. Take the image above you, and put in your changes. You can also make any changes to the landmasses as you see fit.
Then, write about how your state interacts with the one above you.
I shall start.
>The Kingdom of Loisie is a sparsely populated hinterland kingdom ruled by the self-proclaimed Queen Eloisa, who once as the general of the royal army commenced a coup on the royal family as it was revealed to her in a dream that she is the rightful ruler.
>The kingdom is populated by light-furred anthropomorphic cats without tails. Those with tails are seen birth defects and are therefure banished.
>The country is in a grueling civil war against tailed rebels.
>Anthros of other species were exterminated when The Cat Eloisa took power.
>The Queen regularly sends her Holy Knights on raids against other neighboring states fur Holy artifacts.
>>66418
>Is it because of how rare their foods are outside their country?
Not necessary, their lands just happen to be the best environment fur harvesting crops. So, they do some outsourcing fur other countries or something.

>i don't know how to worldbuild btw
>>66418
maybe they have a food production secret, similar to how sericulture remained a secret fur centuries irl
Vietnam is a rice exporter and they’re tiny.

Yes, the Kingdom of Chan was a hekkin multicultrally diverse nation with white and black cats alike until bigoted extremists decided to seperate. Now that I think about this more, it would be more interesting to make South Chan a mostly mountainous area. They have a huge population, but very few fertile land, meanwhile North Chan or "Kingdom of Loisie" is lacking in industry but has lots of farmland and doesn't have a huge population issue but is growing rapidly. Food prices are high, and yet the government is sending billion of tons of grain to feed fureigners is putting a strain on the populace and may lead to unrest. They hope that the Land of Nekotsuki will be able to assist them in exchange fur cheap refined goods.

>kingdom of loisie has plenty of land but is lacking in industry with a smaller (but growing) popluation

hey, that's actually pretty good worldbuilding right here.

Thanks, I think of it like South Chan is where everyone moves too because it has big cities and lots of factory jobs. But after the separation a lot of refugees arrived and it's straining the nation. Their mistake was becoming too liberal and not cracking down hard enough on the separatists until it was too late.

Yes “Horde” is pelt like that on purpose.
>The Vermu are a race of subterranean steampunk anthropomorphic rodents that trace their lineage back to rodents that wandered deep under the earths crust. >During their evolutionary journey they were introduced to a species of massive underground bioluminescent mushrooms that dominated the underground that subsided off the planets geothermal heat that created groves of underground glowing mushroom furests.
>During this evolutionary process they Vermu became dependent on the spores the mushrooms released with the compounds they produce being necessary fur their brain chemistry to function. Without access to these spores the Vermu become feral and lose higher cognitive function.
>As their society evolved they cultivated the species of mushrooms breeding them to make more spores, to farm them fur food, make them tougher to be used to build with, and the side effect of making them yellow. Since the Vermu all wild varieties of these mushrooms have died out.
>Eventually the Vermu figured out furgery and used the local deposits of copper and tin to make brass which would be the defining metal of their society with the Vermu revering it to a supernatural level. The Vermu will try to use brass and other copper tin alloys as much as possible in place of other weapons be it weapons, jewelry, and construction. If not possible they will plate the other metals in brass.
>With time the isolated Vermu society experienced its industrial revolution where they discovered water could be boiled with the earths geothermal heat and turned into steam that could power machines. With the new innovations this revolution came with the Vermu population exploded and quickly found the limited underground space overpopulated with all the caverns they have access to being turned into hodgepodge shanty towns with gated communities where the elites lived.
>Not too long after Vermu engineers discovered how to make portals to the surface using brass and steam which the Vermu capitalized on. They terrafurmed the earth with their mushrooms as they needed the spores to live scorching all native fauna to replace it with their own, being violent expansionist driven by the need fur more land fur their overcrowded subterranean populace as well as taking slaves from the surface back down under to work their factories.
>The Vermu are ruled by a king who leads a court of oligarch nobles, mostly being big business farm and factory owners that don top hats and monocles. With the oligarch structure most military ventures are often led by contracted generals in charge of masses conscripted with the promise of earning land on the surface fur their service.
(If a fantasy setting)
>Dye to their isolation the Vermu have little experience with the supernatural often not knowing how to wield magical artifacts or weapons. If the happen to obtain them in their conquests they’ll often just use them as batteries to power their wonderwaffe, usually mechs to send into battle or to turn them into some sort of magic gun:

>After the secession of East Chan, the rebels elected a Marmorien noble to rule over the land. With time, the country passed through a process of centralization, wresting the power from the aristocracy and church to the crown, thus becoming an absolutist state
>Thanks to a combination of deft diplomacy and a skillful web of alliances, the dynasty also ended up ruling over the Pellisine throne under a personal union. In recent times, due to modernization effurts, both nations strengthened their ties and started working under a single, unified government
>Nowadays the Dual Monarchy, ruled by the young Queen Kisara, is in the early stages of industrialization, aided by the abundance of coal under the ground. National Stability is also threatened by the Pellisian nobility, which request more and more privileges, in addition to the spread of republican and radical ideas hailing from neighboring countries

I didn’t clarify exactly how strong the Vermu are only describing them as “steampunk” so I’ll do so.
>Most of their recruits are just untrained rats in rags wielding a bronze sword, occasionally with a crossbow instead.
>More professional soldiers wear light bronze armor with the weapon being the choice of the soldier be it a Warhammer, Battle-Axe, crossbow, or pole axe.
>Noble children in the Vermu Hordes usually have connections with the local warlord and are usually in a safe position wielding a repeating crossbow.
>The Wonderwaffe like the guns powered by magic and the ~9 foot tall mechs also powered by magic are very limited in supply with each front only having as many as magic items they can steal. Usually the ones that pilot or use these are hand picked by the leader of said front. Usually each one is special as the magic item used to power it varies be it an enchanted tome or a wizards wand.
>They lack mounts but can utilize their steam portals to travel underground then come back up somewhere else. These portals are extremely hard to set up and maintain however theres only one in each set of territory.
>Official diplomacy with the Vermu as a whole is impossible however the individual contracted warlords will happily make deals to look the other way or sell out their own kind.
>”Steampunk” means they love bronze, brass, and use steam to power their machines. No trains, jetpacks and blimps here.

Streysvick (place names can change idk) is a federation of various smaller states. They crossed the strait from the north, colonizing then annexing the lands to the south. Ethnically, the invaders from the north were dogs/canids but there's probably all sorts of mixing & general buttfluffery going on with the conquered felids in the south. Then the Vermu show up and General Aramis is placed in command to repel them but fails, resulting in the Ghitnean states falling into dubious ownership. Some states have seized the opportunity to declare independence, others have accepted the Vermu, others remain loyal to Streysvick. It's basically a warzone. Regardless, due to the strange political circumstances under which Aramis was routed, an arrest warrant is issued fur him to be tried fur treason. Knowing this, xe basically flees to the little known islet which xe names after ximself.

Confederacy of Cities
>Multiple independent city states that decided all agree upon a constitution that governs them all and have a communal army that keeps the peace in their territories.
>Led by representatives selected by the leaders of the city states to manage the military or broader policing affairs.
>The Confederacy made it easy fur a trade union to furm that trades among the city states and to fureign nations as well. Powerful enough to have a representative despite not representing a city.
>The nature of multiple independent states also invites complex politics to the region with the states trying to secure alliances to influence the broader confederacy.
>Multiracial with no united religion.
>Managed to secure a small island to the west of South Chan through marrying a noble. Uses it as a trading outpost.
>Managed to pacify the Vermu horde to the south when they found out one of their peasants seduced the daughter of the local warlord. They bribed the peasant with a title in exchange fur convincing the local Horde to expand elsewhere.
>In a defensive war with The Zepherian Empire.
The Zepherian Empire
>Expansionist state ruled by a royal family that in recent centuries has violently expanded along the coast of their local sea.
>Mostly anthropomorphic birds, other races exist but are second class citizens.
>Have a pantheon of deities that are often worshipped via offerings of food. Religion is not seen as mandatory by the Zepherian.
>Last two emperors have been greatly successful however the most recent is a homosexual more interested in throwing parties and living flamboyantly than running the empire. His mom is still alive and disappointed, finding herself trying to stop the military from couping her son.
>Has been beaten back in their central territory by the invading Vermu horde, the military has been shown capable in beating them in battle but the unlimited Vermu hordes have worn them down.
>Also at war with the CC in the north and have faced moderate success.
Nine Tail Territory
>Clan of Kitsune lead by a nine tailed fox. She’s been described as a ruthless and skilled leader by her underlings.
>Runs casinos, human trafficking, smuggling, and other deplorable business inside their territories. Generally a hub of gang activity.
>Has ventures in the Ghitnea territories often controlling towns in a mafia like manner.
>Runs racketeering in South Chan and the Dual Monarchy operating fraudulent business in their territories. Recent years these ventures have been cracked down upon by local authorities.
>At odds with the Kingdom of Loisie due to their culture of seeing tails as a birth defect.
Boatman’s Isles
>Unclaimed islands that surround a mysterious monolith that casts the region into permanent overcast and stormy weather.
>Local tribals worship the monolith, are friendly to outsiders.
>Pirates and other gangs use the islands as a retreat with the storms making it hard fur patrol vessels to police the area.
>Pirates have established small coastal outposts to use as bases fur their piracy endeavors targeting CC, Nekotsuki, and South Chan ships.
