Also, and this is not a knock against you, I think it's inherent in the character design, but a Vera that's colored in, in a detailed background, gives me a bit of "uncanny valley" feeling.  I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the contrast between the style in which you have rendered her, and the background, and even the other character? I dno, lol.  Good art communicates with you and makes you feel something, right?  As you can see, I'm in no position to criticize anyone's art, or offer advice.

Also I felt another of those compulsions and this time it's gonna be a sequential art comic sort of thingy.  The total is seven panels.
