Vampires should have comically gigantic fangs that give them a cute lisp.

Fun vampire fact: in some cultures vampires are mega OCD and autistic, and it is considered a vampire deterrent to leave large piles of grain next to a suspected vampire's grave because when they wake up they will obsessively count every individual grain instead of going off and drinking someone's blood.

I think the trust aspect of giving someone permission to literally just take some of your blood is a big part of vampire x mortal romance. Sharing your life essence is also a bit on the nose when it comes to symbolism.
