36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

“Be not solicitous therefore, saying, What shall we eat: or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the heathens seek. For your Father knoweth that you have need of all these things. Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you. Be not therefore solicitous for to morrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.”

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “None of you must ever grab his penis with his right hand when he is urinating.” Sahih Muslim

And they came and began to ride the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and the Prophet of Allah (SAW) began to recite to them. Musnad Ahmad [in reference to the al zutt riding Muhammad]

The Prophet (SAW) said: “When any of you wakes up from sleep, he should suck up some water through his nose three times to clean it, because Satan spends the night in your nasal cavities.” Sahih Muslim

Someone told the Prophet (SAW) about a man who slept in until morning and did not get up for prayer. And He said: “Satan has urinated in his ear.” Sahih Al-Bukhari

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Dont conform to the pattern means to not fall to the new damaging trends of the current time and allow God to shape you instead

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[a] you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

<9> And to some who trusted in themselves as just, and despised others, he spoke also this parable: <10> Two men went up into the temple to pray: the one a Pharisee, and the other a . <11> The Pharisee standing, prayed thus with himself: O God, I give thee thanks that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, as also is this publican. <12> I fast twice in a week: I give tithes of all that I possess. <13> And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes towards heaven; but struck his breast, saying: O god, be merciful to me a sinner. <14> I say to you, this man went down into his house justified rather that the other: because every one that exalteth himself, shall be humbled: and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.
I agree with the stuff about pulling up the people around you through charity and kindness, but I do not agree with the stuff about slave honor and policing people's bedroom behavior.

I don't think any kind of centralized / organized religion is going to cut it for you, since shaming people for made up reasons is central to control them via induced guilt.

>"You are inherently evil for haveing a sex drive and will go to hell!"
Are you pulling this out of your ass perchance?

Sex is absolutely fine as long as it's not with a member of the same sex, an animal, a non-human being, or before marriage.
Are you complaining that you can't have sex with anybody or, God forbit, anything you want?
>>42826
Its okay its hard to understand it at first, we are too hard wired into thinking sex is central to ourselves and is part of love when its actually not that important.

The denomination question everyone is going to tell you theirs. I am catholic and i believe its the only True Church and can sell it to you, same as orthobros and protestants i guess. But all denominations have 80-90% of the same values and morals being all based in the Bible. Focus first into viewing that 80% and then ask again. I personally believe its the Catholic Church because its the only one that actually looks for an united Church as the Bible commanded and is by far the biggest and most influential and because of that the most attacked with the lies of the antichristian mob. But as i told you focus on the Bible first and then get into the dogmas of the churches and come back to discuss what you learned. Being a christian is the most important thing and sometimes focusing on the few stuff that makes us different might seem more important. I dont think that for the average christian their denomination plays a big part in how they act because there are plenty of lukewarms nowadays who dont agree with everything a christian should do, like the bed policing you said, but the more the christian gets into christianity the closer the christian will be to Rome

10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,[a] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11 My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas[b]”; still another, “I follow Christ.”

13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?
>god made humans in his own image, so why do you prefer anthros over humans?

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
    or decide by what he hears with his ears;
4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together;
and a little child will lead them.
7 The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy
    on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

Animals are all under man command in the Bible and in Paradise they lived in peace and none harmed each other, no killing animals for food also. After sin entered man animals started becoming more hostile and aggressive, so i think ideally both humans and animals are supposed to live together and in peace, but man will always be above and the favorite of God so we can do as we please with them. But maybe in heaven every creature sings in God's choir. Theres no talk about anthropomorphic animals in the Bible, maybe they would count as men aswell because their spirits are of man and only the flesh is animal and flesh doesnt remain idk

what you call policing the bedroom, is called being pure, something civilized cultures all over the world tended to believe in to some degree, not just christians. Purity is doing what you're supposed to, using things for their intended purpose and function. If you did it, you would find that it was spiritually good for you, and would make you happy, for man is happy when he lives according to his purpose.

but desiring the things of this world as anyone would, you wish to use things for ulterior motives, to pervert things away from their purpose, because it is fun, or pleasurable. but doing such things is usually addictive, or harmful, or results in removing a good that ordinarily is there. The reason the hedonistic lifestyle is miserable, is not because its hedonistic, it is because it is so impure, and devoid of purpose. Is not the antidote to purposelessness, to live in line with your purpose? to use things according to their proper function, to be pure.

When you throw your hands up frustrated, you'll realize the balanced life is simply better than empty pleasures you chose, despite all manner of force and all, the cost is worth it. There is no such thing as a free man, only men who are slaves to their desires, or men who are slaves to their rules. Many people deceive themselves thinking can pick a third way, they so want to choose themselves, not any master, but they are ensnared all the same.

(to answer your question, look for any liberal denomination, they literally that.)

4 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They furbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 Fur everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

This verse says that close to the end people will stop believing in the Word of God and will listen instead to liars and hypocrites who are against the truth guided by demons, also the verse mentions why christians dont have any furbbidden food

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness fur his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: fur thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfurt me.
Thou preparest a table befure me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Should the Bible be interpreted literally as it was written? Or should it be interpreted metaphorically where the words and actions convey a hidden message?

Both. Depending on the context.
>>48286
Jesus often times spoke with metaphores and hid the meaning of his words inside them and most of the Old Testament is history and stories with some mythological stuff which can be interpreted as metaphorically or as how they understood stuff back then, like fur example in ancient times jews believed space was filled with water and the sky separated the water from above from the water below in our Earth. The Bible main goal is not to be a history book or a science book, its more like guide on how to live and to get us closer to God through Jesus Christ the Son. Interpreting the Bible at its fullest its hard and has some obscure and dense stuff, thats why Jesus left us a Church to guide us through it, because without the Church you get people like the furanon below your reply.

3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful fur a man to divorce his wife fur any and every reason?”

4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘Fur this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefure what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except fur sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”

11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 Fur there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs fur the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

The last part is sometimes used to explain the celibacy of the priests of the Catholic Church

33 They said to him, “John’s disciples often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking.”

34 Jesus answered, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? 35 But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; in those days they will fast.”

36 He told them this parable: “No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. 37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. 38 No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. 39 And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, fur they say, ‘The old is better.’”

This verse talks about how Jesus message is new and cannot be contained by the practices of old. The phrase "the old is better" talks about the people who refuse to change and are stubborn to not adapt to the new message. When Jesus refers himself as bridegroom is because the Church is the bride of Jesus

34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35 Fur whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life fur me and fur the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it fur someone to gain the whole world, yet furfeit their soul? 37 Or what can anyone give in exchange fur their soul? 38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

Sometimes we might feel ashamed and weird fur trying to not participate in the activities deemed normal by todays standards because we know its wrong. Sometimes we might try to hide our religious beliefs because we dont want people to think we are backwards, annoying, pretentious, indoctrinated or whatever people have been told being religious really is. We are told to try to share the gospel, which is the cure of all evil and the key fur a good life and salvation. We dont have to be constantly talking and constantly trying to convert everyone we know, but at least we got to try, because keeping Jesus to ourselves only is selfish and bad. If christians in the 1st century shared the gospel even though they would get killed if some bad people found out, why cant we do the same in the 21st?

Surely vain are all men by nature, who are ignorant of God, And could not out of the good things that are seen know him that is: Neither by considering the works did they acknowledge the workmaster; But deemed either fire, or wind, or the swift air, Or the circle of the stars, or the violent water, Or the lights of heaven, to be the gods which govern the world. With whose beauty if they being delighted took them to be gods; Let them know how much better the Lord of them is: Fur the first author of beauty hath created them. But if they were astonished at their power and virtue, Let them understand by them, how much mightier he is that made them.
Fur by the greatness and beauty of the creatures, proportionably the maker of them is seen. But yet fur this they are the less to be blamed: Fur they peradventure err, Seeking God, and desirous to find him. Fur being conversant in his works they search him diligently, And believe their sight: because the things are beautiful that are seen. Howbeit neither are they to be pardoned. Fur if they were able to know so much, That they could aim at the world; How did they not sooner find out the Lord thereof? But miserable are they, and in dead things is their hope, Who called them gods, which are the works of men's hands, Gold and silver, to show art in, And resemblances of beasts, Or a stone good fur nothing, the work of an ancient hand.

Monogamy is the only way to have a real relationship with a woman. Poligamy in the OT was allowed because Jews were few and needed to multiply, but as shown by the Bible it was unstable, toxic and ended very badly. Abraham had a wife who couldnt breed at first so her wife offered her slave to give a son to Abraham, later God allowed Abraham's wife to bear children and she gave Abraham a heir, being the slave and abraham first born now bad in the eyes of Abraham's wife because she preferred her blood son the slave and the son had to leave. In Jacob story we see he married two sisters and the two sisters constantly fought to be his favorite. Solomon had a ton of wives and concubines that drove him away from God.

Outside the ancient world we can see "polysexual" people. And they are retarded, want to be special, are indoctrinated and degenerates. So no polygamy will never work

<1> I will give thanks to thee, O Lord and King, and will praise thee as God my Savior. I give thanks to thy name, <2> fur thou hast been my protector and helper and hast delivered my body from destruction and from the snare of a slanderous tongue, from lips that utter lies. Befure those who stood by thou wast my helper, <3> and didst deliver me, in the greatness of thy mercy and of thy name, from the gnashings of teeth about to devour me, from the hand of those who sought my life, from the many afflictions that I endured, <4> from choking fire on every side and from the midst of fire which I did not kindle, <5> from the depths of the belly of Hades, from an unclean tongue and lying words— <6> the slander of an unrighteous tongue to the king. My soul drew near to death, and my life was very near to Hades beneath. <7> They surrounded me on every side, and there was no one to help me; I looked fur the assistance of men, and there was none. <8> Then I remembered thy mercy, O Lord, and thy work from of old, that thou dost deliver those who wait fur thee and dost save them from the hand of their enemies. <9> And I sent up my supplication from the earth, and prayed fur deliverance from death. <10> I appealed to the Lord, the Father of my lord, not to fursake me in the days of affliction, at the time when there is no help against the proud. <11> I will praise thy name continually, and will sing praise with thanksgiving. My prayer was heard, <12> fur thou didst save me from destruction and rescue me from an evil plight. Therefure I will give thanks to thee and praise thee, and I will bless the name of the Lord. <13> While I was still young, befure I went on my travels, I sought wisdom openly in my prayer. <14> Befure the temple I asked fur her, and I will search fur her to the last. <15> From blossom to ripening grape my heart delighted in her; my foot entered upon the straight path; from my youth I followed her steps. <16> I inclined my ear a little and received her, and I found fur myself much instruction. <17> I made progress therein; to him who gives wisdom I will give glory.

25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]”

28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”

29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you fur any extra expense you may have.’

36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

11 I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes, please put up with me! 2 I am jealous fur you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 Fur if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

5 I do not think I am in the least inferior to those “super-apostles.”[a] 6 I may indeed be untrained as a speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way. 7 Was it a sin fur me to lower myself in order to elevate you by preaching the gospel of God to you free of charge? 8 I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so as to serve you. 9 And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, fur the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so. 10 As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, nobody in the regions of Achaia will stop this boasting of mine. 11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

12 And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. 13 Fur such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, fur Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

13 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! Fur if the miracles that were perfurmed in you had been perfurmed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable fur Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than fur you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades.[a]

16 “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

This verse explains how if you could never listen to the message, youll be judged less harshly than those who did listen to the message and decided to go against it. This answers the question about how will people who never lived somewhere where christians voices are heard but they tried to live their best with what they knew will be treated. Imagine like a uncontacted tribe of primitive humans where murder is typical and not a crime which then gets in contact with human civilization and they introduce their laws unto them, can the people that murdered when they didnt know it was illegal be judged the same way someone who knew about the laws and decided to ignore them? No. Were the civilized humans bad fur imposing their laws onto the primitive humans because now they will get judged fur doing something they thought was normal befure? Maybe the murderers wont like it, but the ones that would have been murdered sure will agree its a good this was implanted.

8 Fur you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (fur the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said:

“Wake up, sleeper,
    rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefure do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father fur everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Follow the light, you may not always be capable of standing in the path bathed by the light of Jesus Christ but whenever you enter in the shadows dont tremble and come back to the light which is always visible and there fur you. I love all of you

Theres Saint Peter 3:1-7

3 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they see your respectful and pure conduct. 3 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— 4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 5 Fur this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

7 Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

and Ephesians 5:22-33

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 Fur the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up fur her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care fur their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 fur we are members of his body. 31 “Fur this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Both husband and wife are meant to become one. While what you said that the wife should belong to his husband and be devoted to him is true, its also true fur the husband. Both have to be devoted to one another and belong to one another. The incessant desire is not something good, passions of the flesh are a dangerous road and wives while they can help with the husband's desires the husbands can also help with their desires but they arent what marriages are about. Marriage is not about sex and becoming one flesh is not to penetrate but to literally become one another, the husband and the wife are one, each with a distinct role, but each with the same goal and duty to love and carrying one another always

Warning to Rich Oppressors
5 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a] 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

Patience in Suffering
7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 Fur no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

This verse is one of the most used to explain the purgatory. Purgatory is a place not Heaven nor Hell where the souls that will be saved but still need some sins cleansed go to. Its the place to purge the sins of the soul to make ourselves fit for Heaven for nothing impure can enter. The one who built with wood hay and straw having been met with fire, he suffered loss and came through fire yet was still rewarded (purgatory and then Heaven) and the one who built with gold silver and costly stones because they didnt burn he got rewarded without having to be burned first (Heaven after being judged)

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 Fur rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 Fur the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Governments can be evil and corrupt but the alternative of having no authority will always be worse, respect authorities and the laws and if something is wrong with them it can probably be solved through pacific and mostly legal procedures because when you think you are above the law you can only cause pain with your actions, like civil wars and terrorism

23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, fur they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

5 “Everything they do is done fur people to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ fur you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ fur you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, fur you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 Fur those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Btw the dont call anyone else father/master/instructor is meant to mean people who use those titles to enlarge themselves and gargle on pride. Of course you can call your dad father, in fact Saint Paul called himseld the spiritual father of the people he preached to and considered his people his sons. Taking this in an ultra literal sense would be silly
