>How old are you now
Straight for the jugular eh?
>at what age do you plan on stopping being a furry?
There is no incentive to "stop", for me at least.
As a broader question, what incentives are there? Social pressure?
Either own it or conceal your power level, just don't do cringe, and it will be fine.
Finding something new to be passionate about, like career of family? Reasonable, though it doesn't mean you can't enjoy looking at anthro art now and then.
Also bear in mind, that if you don't simply find anthros enjoyable to look at or use them as memes but are attracted to them in some manner, the drawings always remain youthful and energetic whereas your peers (and eventually you as well) hit the wall. Thus, if you are past your opposite sex's prime, anthros grow only ever more attractive in comparison.
>a fan base
I understand what it's meant to convey here but maybe 'fan base' is not a fully applicable term here, it's not a singular product or a team but more like a broad concept, like being a gun nut or a stoicist?
More importantly, as others have mentioned, you don't even need to associate or interact with others. You can leech by silently grabbing all the pretty pictures and stashing them in your lair, and or just as silently share your creations with others and refuse to elaborate (or just store the mouse ladies in your "Taxes" folder, for your family to discover after your passing, like the Japanese gentleman above did).
>high schoolers and 19 year olds
Ok this probably doesn't sound as convincing seeing that there's multiple young lads itt and the link I'm about to post isn't helping but there's definitely quite a few older folks who enjoy anthros too.
Anyhow, here's some "research":
https://staging.furscience.com/research-findings/demographics/1-1-age/
It does feature a prominent peak at 18 y.o., but if you check references and view the data for 2013 you'll see a much more gradual slope towards 30.
Another interesting thing to note is that most artists are mid 20s to 30s:

My guess is there is some selection bias at play here, as older anthro enthusiasts (except for artists, who will expectedly interact with their target audience) withdraw from actively participating in the social events and just look at foxes from the comfort of their homes. Maybe it is elaborated upon in that census, haven't read it all.
