>Do you guys like malls? furced to go to one RN and I'm bored outta my mind
Malls are depressing. I went to the last Sear's still open in my state days befure they closed, and I was the only customer in the store. The shelves were lined with NOTHING. There was NOTHING there to buy. It was a similar story with all of the other stores. The mall as a social venue is dead.
>>>/anthro/44791
My mall has more life in it than yours then.
I see people in there all the time. It’s kinda nice to explore there fur me.
What's your fit? I wear jeans/shorts with a shirt
>What's your fit? I wear jeans/shorts with a shirt
Beret with a band shirt and cargo shorts.
Besides drawing anthro art my only real other hobby is playing video games, mostly Nintendo stuff.

I've been in a big Zelda mood recently so I've been replaying some of those. I beat Wind Waker and Minish cap fur the 3rd and 2nd time recently and I'm currently replaying Spirit Tracks, which I haven't played since I was like 8 years old lol.
>>>/anthro/44823

>>>/anthro/44791
>>>/anthro/44793
There are two malls near where I live, one of them is surprisingly busy and the other is so dead it's strange how it's still open. I kinda prefer the dead one though, it just feels much more chill to walk around there, the busy one can get super crowded which is just kind of annoying. The busy one is a lot bigger though, so it's nicer if you're hanging out with friends
>>>/anthro/44828
I hate crowded places, and it's not because of people. I just hate being forced to walk in a crowd or be forced to listen to everyone. I prefer semi populated places where it's chill and I can relax. Once I drove to hike and found the place flooded with people, which I kinda expected tbh because the place is popular, but I just turned around. I have more dignity than he brought down to the level of an Indian

A Boomer would tell you to shine your shoes, put on your best suit, go there in person, and demand a one-on-one meeting with the owner of the company, to show that you're a go-getter and an ambitious risk-taker.

This is what the people who raised the Boomers would have done, and maybe in 1946 that might have worked successfully. "The past is another country. They do things differently there." They genuinely believe that's still how things work, because that's what their dads did after they got out of the Navy in 1945. That world is one with Nineveh and Tyre.

I had a longer reply typed out but it was depressing. I have no suggestions and no advice. I will just say it sounds like you're going through a rough patch right now. I hope things get better fur you. At least you aren't homeless, right?

We now return to your regularly scheduled shitposting.

Read a book or something, preferably outside so you don't have the ability to become set in your ways and repeat the day just watching YouTube videos on your computer. Works fur me, but then I have to deal with BUGS!!!!! >:-(

Honestly it's your day off, I would spend mine similarly most of the time. Honestly on a day off I just like to get rested up befure I get back to the grind so anything that helps to that end is fine.

The basic premise is that WW2 ended in apocalypse, the original concept was that the Japanese released a chemical weapon that had an incidental chance to transfurm people into anthros. I have a gym membership. And my doctors tell me I need more fluids. One of the figures that came up was three liters of water per day. So right now I'm slowly sipping from a pitcher of pink slush. It's fresh strawberries, diced, with stems removed, put in the blender with creatine, whey protein powder, and ice + water to make around two liters. It's got vitamins 'n' fiber 'n' stuff. I'm gonna go lift weights when I finish it.

>>47971
Yeah, about that. This chemical weapon seems to have moved an awful long distance from Japan. I offer this suggestion, if you're still in the editing and brainstorming phase: maybe replace it with a biological weapon, because it could plausibly reproduce itself and spread vast distances around the world, in contrast to chemical weapons, which tend to stay more or less in the places where they're used. Just saying.

He went on the official Minecraft wiki to find out how to build a nether portal and there was a picture of Averi pointing at a portal with some weird hieroglyphics blocks filling a portal frame.
Then the video zoomed out and it was revealed that the YouTuber I was watching trooned out. There new pfp was there old persona about to rope themselves and an arrow pointing to some guy wearing a trans shirt with blue hair. When I checked their channel fur more videos, I saw they made a “woke” parody of that Averi nyagga heil Hitler where she said heil lgbt or some shit like that.

Oh and I was chased by an EF6 tornado that had a black hole furm above it fur some reason. I was trying to hide inside a shipping container fur protection when I woke up o algo

>one glorious afternoon, pwning noobs in WoW, I get a DM on Telegram
>pic related, it's an anthropomorphic fox woman. Like, full-on furry art.
>fluffing instant block, screeching inwardly about the degeneracy of the internet
>but then the message pops up as a notification: 'You have a terrible curse, Anon. It will not go away unless you perfurm a special ritual.'
>pfft, what a load of furry-baiting nonsense. Laugh it off.
>next day, things start going wrong
>my internet drops mid-raid, costing us the boss. Guild leader calls me a scrub. Cursed.
>go to make tendies, they burn to a crisp. Whole house smells like failure. Cursed.
>mom finds my piss jug under my bed. 'ANON, WE TALKED ABOUT THIS!' Cursed beyond belief.
>my waifu body pillow spontaneously deflates. The horror.
>the curse is real. I feel it in my bones. It's gotta be her.
>unblock the fox lady, trembling.
>'WHAT DO I DO?!' I type, desperate.
>she replies almost instantly: 'Meet me at the Grand Imperial Hotel, Suite 404, tomorrow night at 7. Dress... presentable.'
>presentable? I only own cargo shorts and anime tees.
>next evening, tell mom I'm going to a 'LAN party with Greg.'
>Greg doesn't exist, mom doesn't question it. Probably thinks I'm finally getting a life.
>put on my least stained shirt, brave the outside world. The sun, it burns.
>arrive at the hotel, find room 404. Heart hammering against my ribs.
>knock. Door opens.
>it's her. Not a picture, but an actual, breathing, anthropomorphic fox lady. Tail swishing, ears twitching.
>she's wearing a fancy dress. I'm wearing cargo shorts. Kill me.
>'Come in, Anon. We don't have much time.'
>the room is dimly lit, smells faintly of cinnamon and... wet fur?
>she holds out a small, ornate ring and a scroll of parchment.
>'To break the curse, you must wear this ring and sign this contract. It binds you to the ritual.'
>the contract is in Japanese. I can't read a single character.
>'What does it say?' I ask, my voice a pathetic squeak.
>'Oh, just standard ritual stuff,' she says, flashing a foxy grin. 'Pact of the ancient ones, binding of souls, eternal servitude, you know.'
>eternal servitude? Eh, probably just metaphor fur the ritual. I'm desparate.
>slip on the ring. It's surprisingly comfurtable.
>grab the pen, hesitantly sign my name. The ink glows faintly.
>'Excellent,' she purrs. 'The curse is broken. You may leave.'
>stumble out of the hotel, dazed. The air feels lighter. The curse is gone!
>a few days pass, no more mishaps. My internet is stable, tendies are crispy, piss jug remains undisturbed. Life is good.
>then, a knock on the basement door.
>it's mom. And behind her... the fox lady. With two enormous suitcases.
>'Anon,' mom says, her voice a mixture of confusion and terror, 'this young... woman says she's moving in. She says she's your wife?'
>my jaw hits the floor.
>the fox lady smiles, 'That's right, Anon-kun. That contract you signed? It was a marriage certificate. In Kitsune law, it's legally binding. Furever and ever. Till death do us part... or until I decide to get bored of you, whichever comes first.'
>my mom faints.

The ham and chicken was a salty puck of mystery meat that combined aspects of Spam(tm) and canned chicken. It was not bad, actually, at least if you'd been hiking all day.

The freeze dried fruit cocktail stuff, you were supposed to soak in water so that it could reconstitute itself. We'd just eat it as it came out of the package, crackling and crunchy, glittering with crystallized sugar, all the fruit flavors concentrated by lack of water, strong, amplified, and tart enough to cut through the sugary sweetness. Bits of it did tend to stick in your teeth if you ate it that way.

That sucks. I'm sorry.

The DIABEETUS runs in my family. It's all over my mother's side of the family like a rash. Three of my four grandparents died from complications of diabetes they weren't taking care of properly. It was horrible to watch every time. The doctors tell me I'm not diabetic or pre-diabetic and it's not anywhere on the list of health problems I have to worry about, but I avoid sugar, try to keep the fat content of my diet low, and lift weights and do cardio daily anyway. Every time they do blood work they tell me that some of the test results are closer to the "malnutrition" side of the scales than the "DIABEETUS" side, and they tell me I'm being too aggressive in managing a nonexistent problem, but, well. It sounds like you've gotten to witness the same things I have. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. All I can say is, don't feel like you're the only one.

/humblebragging/ here, I got messaged by a recruiter from a ~10 person company in SF that's fairly well-known.
I live in the Midwest, I have no idea how they found my linkedin or why they decided to contact me.

There's probably a 1% chance I get an offer from this, but I'll give it a try. If I'm lucky enough I could double my salary. Really, I would double my salary with big tech too, but I'm a white guy so big tech isn't an option, especially with the current job market.

Replies: >>53105
>>53103
No it's fur a hobby project. My problem is I can write joins, but when I get the rows of data it's an absolute pain to deduplicate the data. So I fetch from each table in separate query right now. Fur example, I have a post table and files table with one to many relationship. I fetch all posts, then I fetch all files by post id. I create a map of ID to post struct, and iterate file rows appending them to respective post. But hackernews geniuses say you want to reduce # of queries so use joins.

I was thinking of LEFT JOIN with posts and files, create a map again of ID to post but as I iterate the result I set in the map the post if it doesn't exist and append to it files. The issue with LEFT JOIN is the post row is duplicated per file row, but the map will alleviate this issue.

I have been over thinking this lately because I need 2 separate methods, one to fetch posts with all associated data such as account info, files, etc. and a lean method to only get post row. It helps me to ramble to someone else to figure out a solution

Because LLMs are fed bot generated articles. They can give you a 90% complete solution, but you need an engineer to give you the other 10%. If I use @grok or chatgpt, it will give me a sub par melting pot of jeet articles. I always prefer advice from people more experienced than me, and I had this validated time and time again when I see 'tards get their hands burned with LLMs or when I personally witnessed it write code that I KNOW is bad.

I run Mint. Last year it said I needed to do a kernel update. After rebooting the front panel audio didn't work any more. Many kernel updates, and several BIOS updates later, it still doesn't work. This motherboard has Bluetoof, so I was able to get sound again using a cheap set of Bluetoof earbuds from Walmart.

maybe the newer kernel break whatever firmware for your audio on the motherboard, I remember I had that happen with WiFi on my old laptop. It was a nightmare for me, I had to go to my school library and get a ethernet to USB adapter so I could upload all my files to the cloud and then format a USB stick with windows. It was kinda my fault and not because iirc the wifi card on my laptop was some obscure chinisium one, but my current laptop has an intel card which are well supported on Linux.

The motherboard is Gigabyte (not obscure, but definitely Chinesium). I am trying to recall the specs on this model. I believe this particular board has a weird mix of components. It's an AM4 motherboard but the WiFi stuff is from Intel. Sound and hardwired Ethernet are all Realtek. Maybe it was a furlorn hope to think this stuff would all play nicely together all the time. It could be worse, I guess. I'm not trying to overclock anything. I guess I'm just not very l33t.

I fluffed up trying to cut the scales and got left with like chunks of salmon flesh while throwing away the good parts since I don't now how to cut them off. (Plus I didn't have a fillet knife so I was fluffed either way.)
Managed to cook it despite getting into a heated argument with my family member because she told me to cover it in foil since she doesn't want to smell fish.
I got the temperature just right enough to eat it but it tasted fluffing bland. I didn't season the fish properly since I tried to use lemon pepper seasoning and nobody else wanted any.
4/10 Never doing this shit again even though I love salmon.

My mother would make salmon patties when I was a kid.

canned salmon
saltine cracker crumbs
coarsley chopped onion
beaten egg

Mix all ingredients, fry in pan with bacon grease. I always disliked them. They were extremely salty. But both my parents liked them.

Periodically I get a craving for fish. There was a nice little mom-n-pop diner a couple of towns over but it closed during Thuh Covidz and never reopened. They had a Friday fish and chips special and you could order it as Cajun style blackened spicy baked fish. It was nice, but they're gone now and the building is boarded up. These days when I can no longer control those urges I eat sardines or canned mackerel.

>what was your method for cooking the salmon?
I baked it in the oven for about 15 minutes on 350*F
Thankfully I temp checked it so it didn't really mess up my stomach. But the fish itself was pretty bland, again I probably should've followed some recipe to properly season the fish.

I got a call from a company I used to work for and I just got offered a job to work as a assistant sys admin. This means so much to me because I used to work for them while in school but had to leave due to school load and other things going on in my life. I felt like left on a bad note and burned a bridge and this left me with so much regret but then suddenly I get called and it's my old boss asking me to come work for him again. I was so scared about my job prospects and would be in bad mood all day thinking about my future but I just feel better now. Thanks for coming to my Ted Rant.

There was a time when the Border Patrol, and I know that ICE and the Border Patrol are separate entities, had a lot of notable hardcases on its payroll. Bill Jordan and Charles Askins were real-deal gunslingers and they stacked some bodies. But those days are long gone. I assume they are looking fur warm bodies to fix copying machines, work in the detention center kitchens, fill out paperwork, and drive prisoner buses, not gunslingers.

yeah it's made in SFM set vaguely in the TF2 universe with TF2 characters. It's pretty cool that they managed to take TF2's goofy characters and make a serious and atmospheric movie with it even if most of it is recycled from other horror films. I recommend it if you have time to kill if you havent seen it.

“I've fursaken ZOG

and a very crude illustration of what that may look like fur an eventual sketch/commission. I really need to learn music theory sooner rather than later, I'm not long fur this world. That phrase is really moving to me, I don't think I'll furget it fur a couple of weeks at least.

"On this basis the act of governing and of dominating furmed one
thing with the cult—the term matsurigoto signifies both government
and "pursuit of religious affairs"; in the context of Shintoism, loyalty—
unwavering faithfulness to the ruller (ciughi)—assumed a religious
meaning and was at the basis of its ethics. Any reprehensible, low,
or criminal deed was not thought of as a transgression of an
abstract, "social" law, but rather as a betrayal, an act of disloyalty,
and a disgrace: there were no "guilty" people in Japan, but rather
"traitors," or people without honor.
These general valuesreceived a particular emphasis in the
warrior nobility (bushi or samurai) and in its ethics (the bushido). The
orientation of tradition in Japan was essentially active and even
militaristic, but its counterpart consisted of an inner furmation—the
samurai's ethics had a warrior and ascetical character—and also
sacred and ritual features; it remarkably resembled the elements
typical of the feudal and knightly European Middle Ages. Besides
Shintoism, Zen, which is an esoteric furm of Buddhism, played a role
in the furmation of the samurai and also in the traditional furmation of
various aspects and customs of Japanese life, including the arts and
crafts; the presence of sects that have practiced Buddhism in its
most recent, weakened, and religious furms, such as Amidism (a
devotional version of Buddhism), have not substantially modified the
predominant character of the Japanese spirit. In Japan, together with
bushido we also find the traditional idea of the warrior's sacrificial
death, exemplified by the kamikaze, the suicide pilots of World War
II.
Until recently, Japan has offered an example, unique in its kind,
of the coexistence of a traditional orientation with the adoption, on a
material plane, of the structures of modern technological society."

Tall guys are sexy. It's not hard.
>>74505
Ask anyone about how they feel about their height and they will probably say they wish to be taller. There's so many reasons why, but social pressure, sports and reaching up higher are the big ones. If you're short, you need less calories to survive, but nobody cares about that.
Replies: >>74527
>>74511
I've always thought it was weird how many people wish they were taller, like those men who get the surgery that extends your legs or whatever. I've always been somewhat short myself, but I've never had any issue with it at all. Idk how to explain it, I feel like I wouldn't be "me" if I were any taller, I like the way I look now. Plus, it's easier to date a woman that's taller than me since I'm short, I've only ever dated women my height or taller, which I like lol.

Though sometimes I feel like I have that autism thing where they can't distinguish faces, except fur height. I had a classmate in college who was 6'5", and I knew him fur the entire four years I was there, but I never really noticed that he was tall. Maybe it was the way he carried himself, but there are people I know who are certainly shorter than him that felt taller somehow. Weird

Ham is also pretty easy since thats normally pre cooked, especially the ones at goyslop marts. you are basically just reheating it and cooking the seasoning packet you can add to it. I dont think any variation of thanksgiving dinner is super difficult to prepare though, most of it isn't something you spend a lot of time actively cooking, more just watching fur spills

Anything can be more elaborate or less elaborate. In some families it was, historically speaking, an all-day job. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes made from scratch, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie also from scratch. It can get very labor intensive.

Some families do a lot of stuff to the ham befure it even goes in the oven: cutting decorative grooves in the exterior surface, sticking whole cloves all over it, putting maraschino cherries or pineapple slices on it with toothpicks, and so on.
Replies: >>76063 >>76181

Yeah I get that. Fur me and my mom we would basically just do the turkey + stuffing, sweet potato souffle and mashed potatoes. As far as decorating it goes our family has never really gone too hard on that, we pretty much just want to meet and eat lmao

Friend bought me Civ 5 and I think I like it a little better than I liked HOI4 when we played it but I think RTS games are more my speed than these grand strategy type games, I need units to micro in active combat. Civ 5 and HOI 4 were really dumbed-down compared to their predecessors, according to people I know that are familiar with both franchises and publishers. If you're interest in the micro-ing aspects, the earlier Civs and HOIs seem far more robust in that regard.
