Do people even consider what jobs a degree can get them befure they choose it anymore
I've seen so many nyaggas get bullshit degrees like philosophy then complain when they can't find a job

I was too dumb fur STEM so I chose the path of least resistance. 100% on me so... oh well

If you tell them you have a degree they’ll be less likely to hire you since they know you’re overqualified
>>75784
Don't be too hard on yourself, even if you didn't get a degree you still get rejected from fast food because how fluffed up the job market is
>>75783
adolescent me did not furesee the rise of AI and jeets when i went into computers

I took a computer class in high-school and saw how retarded the average person going into tech was. Also people were just doing it because
>good career and money
So its really on you fur being blind imo.

McD needs a degree now?

If it makes you feel any better I graduated with an engineering degree and I'm still looking fur a job. Just being STEM won't save you lol

wtf else is a loser shut-in who plays video games and codes shit supposed to take? a lot of people were doing it fur the money, and obviously i liked that part too, but it looked like the best choice fur someone with my interests at the time
you know what, fluff you. im voting democrat. im sure they will furgive all my debt instead of sending another billion to the chosen people
>>75796
lots of places look fur a bachelor's degree, regardless of what that degree is, fur managerial positions because it shows you aren't a druggie and have an IQ above 80
>>75797
good luck brother
I’m doing polisci with the idea id do law but im kinda thinking now that law school and being a lawyer kinda sucks actually.
>>75797
Well, I'm 2025 you also need 10 internships of experience. Oh, and the people writing those requirements and doing the hiring? Yeah it's all boomers who got hired fresh out of college no experience and trained up.

I fluffing swear, the absolute state of those people. I read a post on job subreddit, which I hope was ragebait, about some boomer unable to find qualified locals. Talked about, "oh I understand the job market is hard. Back then I was hired with no experience and trained up so I know I had it easy compared to you kids!" and then in the next sentence"WHAT THE FLUFF DO YOU MEAN I SHOULD HIRE A NUGRAD WITH NO EXPERIENCE AND THEN TRAIN THEM UP?"

You reject yourself bare your cross and get to work nyagga. College is a scam.
>>75798
Don't be so hard on yourself, you're a cool guy. I try to keep in mind that we're who we surround ourselves with and what we do. If I NEET watching nothing but YouTube and tranime all day, I'll be a loser. That's why I try to seek out good people as hard as I can and do something productive with my time. I successfully cut out a lot of slop out of my life and it's a lot more peaceful now
>>75802
All true unfurtunately.
A degree barely does anything now, you need internships too, which are also difficult to get. And so many engineering jobs (at least in my field) ask fur people to be EITs or PEs. I already proved that I'm smart by getting an engineering degree, now I have to get a bunch of other "certifications" to prove what exactly? Can't the degree speak fur itself?

All this work just to land a job that I'm not even going to like, lol

STEM isn't the only area with jobs but SURELY there's something that interests you. Fur education, being interested in the topic goes a super long way
>>75791
when did you go into computers? 2005? coding degrees have been useless fur a while now, even befure ai, the market is super oversaturated
Replies: >>75985

>even befure ai
AI is not relevant at all in SWE, and anyone who uses it is either a) grifter trying to sell you feel good vibes or b) working fur a business that shouldn't exist and will be bankrupt a year from now. LLMs are nothing more than glorified tab complete, and they can't think or solve novel problems. Anyone who uses the word "AI" is selling you bullshit. The "father" of LLMs left Meta because he pointed out they are a dead end fueled by hype. It is not AI, it is a chatBOT.
AI is a meme and the market is oversaturated, but a compsci degree is probably still one of the more lucrative ones to have in the zob market.
"Markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent." - John Keynes

Certs are a meme, too. Everybody brain dumps on them just as much as exams in college. I wasted a year of my life getting 1.500 dollars in CompTIA certs only to find out that even with certs, you're not getting a 20 dollars and hour job that demands you know what an IP address is.
its even hard with usefull education, i did 9 months of school fur a certificate and it took me 6 months to land an entry level job in it
