I want to do another movie, this time Bad Guys 2. Well, mostly because that's the recent one. If enough people would prefer the first movie I can show that instead. But I figure enough people have seen the first one so that we can do the sequel.

I would like to target 8pm EST this time so EUfags don't have to stay up quite as late

sounds good. I've already seen it but I'll come hang out and do something else with the film in the background.
I will not be watching this one either.
I’ll watch.

Can we watch something better instead of whatever is the newest furslop at the time?

They're nice illustrations, but not at all faithful to the source material. Almost necrobumped the other thread to say this, it's more relevant to the discussion in there than to this thread but whatever.

I wasn't looking at the poster befure - are you faggots really willing to watch any recent animated movie if it contains anthropomorphic animals? Zootopia was at least somewhat understandable, it being the sequel to what was quite an important work in the greater Furry conceptual genealogy and something you people probably saw when you were children/teenagers, and to see what shitlib Pixar employee political messages it would've invariably had (I've heard it was at least somewhat interesting on that front, once you dig past the surface-level Hidden Figures WASPs crap). But this? You may as well just fluffing host a watch party fur Despicable Me at this point.

How do they keep getting new ideas
Replies: >>82198
>>82193
They don't. The life cycle of these animated franchises is always
>1st movie: genuinely interesting premise
>2nd movie: the protagonist from the first finds le heckin' love if it didn't happen in the first movie
>3rd movie: the protagonist has kids and there's some bullshit about parenthood struggles or whatever
>4th movie: now the kids are grown up and horny and also want to fluff and the parents are having some midlife crisis
>5th movie: rinse and repeat fur as long as the series yields a profit

90% of movie sequels are unnecessary if the previous movie didn't explicitly hint at a sequel
Replies: >>82208 >>82212
>>82207
sequelbait is the worst thing that you could do to a movie because it’s not always guaranteed
>>82207
Most are unnecessary even if sequels have been set up.
Most franchises only exist and continue because they keep making money because the audience just can't let go of the characters or what have you. They can't just let a good story end anymore. It needs to be expounded upon with microlore and spinoffs and prequels and sequels and official merch and theories and all matter of related autismisms. And the companies are only happy to oblige, of course.

There's only so many anthro movies so we go through them first because it's thematic to the site.
Would you prefer Citizen Kane?
Replies: >>82339
>>82338
I would tune in fur that.
Replies: >>82342
What was that one stop motion called? Fantastic Mr Fox?
>>82339
Which would be my point, we aren't here to watch the top rated critically acclaimed classics. We are here to just talk and shitpost while we watch something anthro related, the movie itself not being as important as the fact that we are watching together
