Abu Huraira (in another narration) said from the Prophet, "unless it is used fur guarding sheep or farms, or fur hunting." Narrated Abu Hazim from Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "A dog fur guarding cattle or fur hunting."

I don't know. The Muslim girls in my high school (the ones I knew anyways) seemed to make a big deal about obscuring all their hair. But they were fine showing their unobscured faces which seems to be a relatively liberal thing. Then I met others in Morocco that didn't give much of a shit and wore their hijabs rather loosely like in OP or didn't wear it at all. All this is to say: I don't really know much about Islam in reality so I wouldn't know what to tell you. They seem to frown upon dogs and other things but I'm sure, especially in the US, many don't care, the same way Christianity has quite a number of prohibitions if interpreted strictly which many Christians don't seem to care about either.
Another example: Muslims have their equivalent of kosher, that being halal. But my Arabic teacher, who appeared otherwise devout, told me she ate American fast food without much care fur it. 
Anyhow, I think the biggest problem is she's supposed to literally be a demon. fef.
