i think that all the joy and happiness in the world cannot outweigh all the suffering and misery on this earth, so i guess i technically agree that it would be better fur there to be no life than fur life to exist

we are all going to die and probably be in pain and scared. i don't believe in cosmic justice, so i also view existence as unfair. so i don't think it's really worth it. even if you believe in a religion, a lot of those have a hell or something similar, so even in that regard i see existence as a net negative and resulting in a lot of unending agony
but i don't think life will cease anytime soon. it has a habit of trying as hard as it can to not die out. i think long term we will get replaced with robots (or perhaps some hybrid like the synths from the combine in hl2), as even in human societies, darwinism wins, every single time
in the end, none of this is our choice. you should just try to be happy and virtuous, and try to enjoy what short time we have with the people you care about

Nihilistic? Sure, insofar as I've come to accept that there is no objective meaning to life at least no meaning which is mortally comprehensible. Perhaps everything will be revealed and make sense postmortem in some higher plane. But, no, I am by no means a "violent extremist" as a result of this conclusion. I think some edgy part of me wanted to add that quip earlier to get a reaction. Maybe I should've kept my mouth shut. Logically, I should desire for all life to cease like I said I "honestly" hope for (ev&o it's statistically nigh impossible for that to actually ever happen by our own hand any time soon, at least). I do view bringing more children more souls into this world as unnecessary cruelty, at least. Yet some part of me still identifies this line of thinking the desire to destroy life itself with the most fundamental essence of "evil", and it tears me apart somewhere deep down. I will have to make peace with one or the other soon enough-- to make peace with God. Usually I keep this shit to myself because it plunged me into a nasty depressive episode about two years ago. It is a horrible feeling of pure despair and anguish I had never known before: true depression. So I've decided not to dwell on it for too long until I'm a hermit which should be soon enough. Maybe my mind will be changed then by some epiphany. So, whatever, moving on for now.
