Twitter artists who promote their Patreon account in every other tweet should be beaten like rabid dogs.

Why? Do rabid dogs often get beaten?

I've never understood why people post their art on Twitter. It's like the worst platform for the sharing of pictures and other media. It messes and resizes your picture and bitstarves your video. There is zero organization and everything is difficult to find. It's like the worst way you'd want to view art.

Stay on pixiv, deviantart or something that was built for it and shout random thoughts and replies by text on Twitter. I don't know why they use it. It's terrible for both sides.

Better than Twitter. Anything is. Newgrounds is so old though. I remember when ecchi and adult content was banned from Tumblr and everyone moved to Newgrounds. I remember it mostly as a flash site from long ago.

Funny YTMND is still around.

twitter is the worst platform for fucking everything
like discord sucks with how many people use it as the world's clunkiest pseudo-forum, but you can at least use it as a chatroom for irl friends
facebook is like 17 websites stapled together that all expect you to use your real name, but at least you can get free CRTs on there
but twitter has always been a worthless turd

I feel like there are hardly any websites that are good for posting art tbh. Deviantart is full of AI slop and minors, and furaffinity is full of fetish art that isn't tagged NSFW, and Bluesky is full of the top 1% most annoying Twitter users. I'll admit that I'm not familiar with Pixiv or Newgrounds tho.

I feel like people mostly use Twitter just because it's the most popular app, everyone is on Twitter. It does still suck of course

The impression I get is that Twitter is, for a lot of people between the ages of thirty and sixty, The Internet. It's The Place Where People Post Stuff. Sort of like Facebook is for Boomers, and Reddit and Discord are for people under thirty.

Are there better choices? Oh, yes. But people seem to think that it's the entire Internet, or at least the only part of the Internet that matters. One of the results of this is that all these places are irredeemably and unfixably infested with clout goblins, engagement farmers, and a gorillion bots.

>free CRTs
Seriously?

I am not 100% sure, because you can't see a whole lot at either place without an account, but I get the impression that Pixiv is mainly for the Japanese-language Internet. Newgrounds is a gaming forum that has an art site growing out of it like a sick dog with a tumor, and, like the sick dog, it's dying.

>Seriously?
anything that's too heavy for an old single woman to pick up can be gotten for free on facebook marketplace (also craigslist) as long as you keep checking back periodically
my brother got a fully functional antique piano for free (holy shit pianos are heavy btw)
huge CRTs that weigh a million pounds are relatively easy to come by
but if you're thinking of like a computer monitor you're going to have to be very patient (i'm sure anyone that knows enough about the internet to be popping around different altchans knows that there's a bit of a retro computing bubble right now)
i do remember seeing some of those ~13" TVs with a built in vcr for like 20-40 bucks
