I mean more of a hostile takeover of the project. This game apparently began in 2017 and the last update it saw was in 2022, nearly 4 years ago. The project lead was apparently expecting to make gajillions of goybux off xis text adventure porn game. lol. When that didn't work, he decided to start a new project to fund the first (flawless logic). To be fair, the latter project, Bedabots, is supposedly more visual & that's what will make it The Next Big Thing (TM), thereby allowing Kobold Adventure to finally be funded. And just getting a regular job isn't an option because it's too "exhausting" and blah, blah, blah.

There's a solid foundation to work with here and I'm sure the creator, TinkeringTurian, could actually get it done if xe spent less time hanging out with the grooming victims on xis 'cord. It's a text adventure game. How difficult can it possibly be to "develop"? Most of the work left is just writing and drawing and inserting those assets. The code's not open source but I'm sure anyone can remake that part of the game easily in their spare time. After that, all it takes is someone who doesn't quite believe in intellectual property to come by and rip the text and images from the game and expand on it. Of course, I'm sure 'Turian wouldn't be too happy about that but if the pirate's opsec is any good...

Obviously, there's no need to be an asshole about it either. You don't take credit for the existing work or impersonate the guy, and publish everything freely as an unofficial remake. Just a fun idea methinks.
