>Are they like religious beings in their world? Like are they treated as messias by their subjects?
They are worshipped as goddesses by their people. In the ancient past, befure Elanus was founded, they were ordinary nodes living simple lives in a small village. At that time, the s'hal were the leaders of the dominant empire and nodes were treated as second class citizens. Mayami was born a sickly runt, and she had become deathly ill. Shala tried everything to save her and eventually the two would be banished from their village on charges of witchcraft.
As they wandered through the desert, they found an ancient ruin belonging to a civilization known as the Sires. In it they found an artifact that granted them incredible power. This is the point where they get the extra eyes, limbs, and mouth. They would return to their village and begin a cult of worship around themselves, proclaiming themselves to be their creators come back to liberate their people and reclaim what was stolen from them. Eventually this would lead to a rebellion that overthrew the s'hal empire.
This is when Elanus would be created with the nodes and s'hal as the two founding races, they would become the most powerful empire. The s'hal, with their military genius, culture of honor, and physical strength would be the primary military furce while the nodes primarily dealt with political and civilian affairs. Despite the patriarchal culture of the s'hal which stood in stark contrast to the nodes, they would be given an honored position in Elanian society by the Queens as they knew the s'hal would be invaluable assets fur their crusades. This comes with the caveat that they are affurded little social mobility and their only options in life are general to serve in the military or as a physical laborer, something some among them would become resentful of.
Although the vast majority of nodes would follow the queens with zeal, some among them rejected the Queens and would continue to worship the old node goddess Yakia in secret.
>a skull would probably only barely be big enough to be used as a mug fur them
