Neat, that's the kind of customization that should be more widespread in videogames but somehow isn't. Guess they just can't be asked to moderate and their lawyer suits say no.
Obviously, with customizable skins it also means they lose the monopoly on peddling those via microtransactions, but they could make money by selling reskin tokens or be like Valve and have the community pitch models/skins, then pick the best ones and implement them, while also rewarding the creators.
The least these games can do is allow custom guild/clan emblems.

Ha, that brings the memories of the thousands of ugly GTA Vice City character reskins that often were just someone paintbucketing and airbrushing Tommy into a KISS guitarist or a Darth Maul but people still liked and downloaded those because customizing is fun.
